George Taylor Visits Tweetsie Railroad!
Tweestie Railroad is a theme park located in Blowing Rock, NC (between Blowing Rock and Boone) in the Appalachian Mountains. Tweestie has an extremely rich history. The original owners opened the park in Pigeon Forge, TN, that would be come Dollywood as well as the ill-fated Land of Oz near Tweetsie.
Tweetsie is also one of the stops for Thomas and Friends (you know, Thomas the Tank Engine, right?) every June. It’s the place to be for Thomas fans, but you can always find an extremely healthy selection of Thomas merchandise all season long. If you’re not a Thomas fan, then you need to avoid the Thomas weekends!
Check out George’s video about Tweetsie. There’s plenty to do for a family, including a 20-minute train ride around the mountain, a petting zoo, carnival rides and lots of live entertainment. Currently, the admission prices are: $44 for an adult; $28 for a child (3-12); and toddlers are free (check current prices, here). There are discount options if you’re a member of a credit union or any business with a corporate membership.

Rail fans are going to love riding either of the classic Tweetsie engines. The 20-minute trip around the mountain is relaxing and entertaining. For the best view of the two shows, try to sit in the middle cars.
